Step 1: From Screen to Physical Reality
Every custom piece begins as a digital 3D model. Once you approve the design on a screen, we use a high-precision 3D printer to create a physical prototype out of specialized resin. This prototype is known as the Master Model.
The Master Model is the exact physical blueprint of your jewelry. Every millimeter of thickness and every prong for the diamonds must be perfect at this stage, as it will dictate everything that follows.
Step 2: The "Rubber Block" (Vulcanized Mold)
Once the Master Model is perfect, we need to create a way to reproduce it in metal. This is where the Vulcanized Mold comes in.
The Master Model is carefully sandwiched between layers of specialized, unbaked rubber. It is then placed into a vulcanizer a machine that uses high heat and pressure to cure the rubber into a solid block. Once cured, a master artisan uses a surgical blade to cut the rubber block in half, removing the Master Model inside.
What remains is a perfect, hollow negative of your jewelry design. This is the make-or-break stage for intricate details. Whether your design features a sleek, minimalist band, or complex organic textures like animal fur, floral patterns, or vintage milgrain, the sharpness of those details depends entirely on the quality of this rubber mold. With the rubber mold ready, we move to the casting phase:
1. Wax Injection: Hot, liquid wax is injected into the rubber mold. Once it cools, we pull out a perfect wax replica of your jewelry.
2. The Plaster Flask: This wax model is placed inside a steel cylinder, which is then filled with a liquid plaster investment. The plaster hardens around the wax.
3. The Burnout (Lost-Wax): The cylinder is placed in a high-temperature kiln. The heat causes the wax inside to melt and completely vaporize hence the term "lost-wax." This leaves behind a perfect hollow cavity inside the hard plaster.
4. The Pour: Finally, molten gold or platinum is poured into that exact hollow space. Once the metal cools and the plaster is washed away, your piece of jewelry is born in solid metal.
